Robert Lewandowski will face his favorite victim in LaLiga with FC Barcelona this Sunday in Montjuïc. The '9' has scored 6 goals in 4 matches against the 'ché' team.
FC Barcelona will host Valencia this Sunday in Montjuïc (21:00 CEST), a match in which Robert Lewandowski will face the opponent against whom he has the best records since arriving in LaLiga in the summer of 2022. In 4 appearances against the 'ché' team, the experienced forward has scored 6 goals, 2 of them in the match that opened the 2024-25 season at Mestalla (1-2 in favor of the culés).
The Barça started losing with a goal from Hugo Duro just before halftime, but managed to equalize in stoppage time thanks to a comfortable finish from the '9', assisted by Lamine Yamal. No sooner had the second half begun than 'Lewy' put the azulgrana team ahead with a crossed penalty against Mamardashvilli. In total, the Pole has 3 wins and 1 draw against Valencia. The 1-1 from last season at Mestalla was the only slip for the Catalans against the 'bats' with the 'killer' on the field (Joao Félix scored Barça's goal).
Lewandowski will seek to break his bad streak in LaLiga
For Robert, the match against Valencia also represents an ideal opportunity to break his bad streak in the tournament. The Pole remains the top scorer with 16 goals, but Kylian Mbappé has taken advantage of the '9's drop to close in with 12 goals. 'Lewy' scored 14 goals in the first 11 matches, but from matchday 12 to 20 he has only scored a couple of times, against Celta and Betis (in the away draws of 2-2).
In fact, in LaLiga, the 36-year-old forward has not scored in Montjuïc since October 20, in the 'manita' against Sevilla (5-1). Lewandowski's poor offensive production has significantly impacted Barça's performance in LaLiga. Not surprisingly, the team has only managed to win one of its last eight matches (1-5 against Mallorca). Interestingly, in that match at Son Moix, the Pole remained on the bench.
