Real Madrid added their second victory in LaLiga against Real Oviedo (0-3), thanks to another double by Mbappé and a goal by Vinicius in added time
Real Madrid added their second victory in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 at the Real Oviedo stadium (0-3), rounding off a somewhat misleading rout thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappé (double) and Vinicius Jr. The '7' only played half an hour, but responded with an assist and a goal at the end.
Xabi Alonso made important tweaks to his lineup, maintaining the 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1 as a base. However, the coach from Tolosa surprised by opting for Dani Carvajal, Franco Mastantuono and Rodrygo Goes over Trent Alexander-Arnold, Brahim Díaz and 'Vini'.
The '7's absence from the starting lineup and the return of the '11' to accompany Kylian Mbappé was the most notable novelty of a team that dominated from start to finish an Oviedo that was too respectful of the 'merengues' in their return to the First Division.
A goal from Mbappé broke the tie at the Carlos Tartiere
Madrid controlled possession from minute 1, while Oviedo retreated closer and closer to their area as the minutes passed. Venezuelan Salomón Rondón, the only reference in the area for the 'carbayones', barely participated in the game, completely isolated between the 'Casa Blanca' center-backs.
Rodrygo and Mbappé had the first clear opportunities in the opening ten minutes, neutralized with difficulty by goalkeeper Escandell and center-back Dani Calvo. Mastantuono and Arda Güler also tried with long-range shots, but it wasn't until the 37th minute that the scoring was opened.
After a steal by Tchouaméni in midfield where the entire Oviedo team claimed a foul by the Frenchman, Güler enabled Kylian with a filtered pass. The '10' freed himself from the mark of two central defenders with an oriented control, defining with a right-footed shot in front of Escandell with an accurate strike.

The VAR reviewed the play, validating 'Kiki's' goal after concluding that Tchouaméni's tackle on Luka Ilic was 'clean'. In this way, the 'merengues' went to the locker room with an advantage, without brilliance, but with dominance and efficiency.
Kylian Mbappé's double saved Madrid in Asturias
At halftime, coach Veljko Paunovic decided to dismantle his line of three central defenders with the entry of Haissem Hassan, right winger. Oviedo took more risks, but little by little they got closer to the rival area with danger.
After a weak quarter of an hour, Xabi Alonso tweaked his XI with the entry of Brahim and Vinicius for Mastantuono and Rodrygo. Both went from more to less in the match, in the case of the Argentine keeping open the controversy over his registration as a Castilla player.
Oviedo, little by little, gained confidence and was about to tie the game in the 81st minute with a shot from Kwasi Sibo directly to the base of the post. Courtois deflected the shot with his gaze, making the statue. Just afterwards, an error in the locals' exit settled the match.
Vinicius stole and assisted Mbappé, who again defined in a remarkable way with a crossed shot to make it 0-2 in 83 minutes. Ricardo De Burgos spared Vini a second yellow card at the end after an ugly tackle. Previously, the '7' was cautioned for a dive.
Although the 'carbayones' demanded Courtois in the final minutes, it was the 'merengues' who scored another goal, in added time, by Vinicius in the last play of the match. A result that was too bulky for what was seen on the field.
Real Madrid has 6 out of 6 points and, although they are playing slightly better than in 24/25, they continue to leave doubts in terms of performance, especially in the retreat. Next Saturday, the Whites host Mallorca.
