The Atletico Madrid-Athletic Bilbao, suspended by the storm

LaLiga Santander has announced through a communiqué that the party between the Athletic of Madrid and Athletic Bilbao that it had to contest this Saturday from the 16:15 h, has remained suspended to consequence of the meteorological situation that lives in Spain, especially in Madrid, in the middle of the borrasca 'Filomena'.

The Athletic Bilbao had tried to travel during the night of the Friday to the Spanish capital, but was impossible to land in the airport of Stir. The 'lions', after the recommendation of the authorities, finished returning to Bilbao waiting for new news. The players slept in his domiciles and this Saturday, instead of travelling to Madrid, trained in his installations.

Through a communiqué, LaLiga confirmed the postponement of the party, aiming that in front of "the exceptional situation caused by the storm that is living big part of the peninsula, that has caused the closing of the airport of Madrid, Stir, during all day of today and the impossibility to have of the field in optimum conditions, LaLiga, after contacting with both clubs, has requested to first hour of the morning to the Committee of Professional Competition the suspension of the meeting between the Athletic of Madrid-Athletic Club fixed initially for today Saturday to the 16:15 hours in the stadium Wanda Metropolitan", wrote in his web page.

It fits to stand out that the Spanish Federation created during the afternoon of the Friday a Commission of Crisis to commission to evaluate the situation regarding the borrasca Filomena and decide, considering the recommendations of the authorities, the parties that have to postpone, by the temperatures and impossibility of movilizarse. Up to now, they have suspended some clashes, as the one of the FC Barcelona in front of the Madrid CFF of the First Iberdrola, that had to contest today.

Dates for determining

Although the patronal announced the suspension of diverse duels pautados for this Saturday, still does not know the date in which they will be contested. In the communiqué published during this morning, LaLiga informed that "the date of dispute of the meeting will communicate in the next days and will have to be one of the available dates of the calendar of competition".

This will be the third pending party of the Athletic of Madrid of the 'Cholo' Simeone. The rojiblancos still have to contest two days, that had lost by the dispute of the quarter-finals of the past edition of the Champions League. In spite of this, are leaders of the competition, with 38 points, by in front of the Real Madrid (36) and FC Barcelona (32), in the second and third position, respectively.
