Griezmann seeds the controversy in China when breaking relations with Huawei

Antoine Griezmann broke commercial relations with Huawei for collaborating with the repression and persecution of the Muslim minority by part of the Chinese government. That, at least, is the information that was spread in the last hours by 'The Washington Post', that desveló the news of an internal document that relates to the recognised company and to the Chinese government.

It revealed details on the surveillance that executes Huawei through the development of artificial intelligence in China. The agreement was signed by representative of the company. Likewise, the text reveals that Huawei collaborated with the company of facial recognition Megvii, with the end to test a system of cameras of artificial intelligence that can scan faces of a conglomerate of people, and determine his age, sex and etnia.

The mentioned facial identifier has the capacity to send "alarm yoghourts", warnings automated to the governmental authorities when his system identify to members of the Muslim minority pursued in the Asian country.

This information ocasionó that one of his more emblematic figures, like Griezmann, finalised agreement with the technological company by not agreeing with the measures taken and his collaboration with the siege against Muslims in China.

Through his account in Instagram, the French published a communiqué with a conclusive message in this regard: "After the strong suspicions according to which Huawei would have contributed to develop an alert uigur through a software of facial recognition, announcement that finish of immediate form my collaboration with this society. I take advantage of to invite to Huawei to no only to deny these indictments but to take the before possible concrete actions to condemn this repression in mass and use his influence to contribute to the respect of the human rights in the society".
