Real Madrid returned to the path of victory with goals from Lucas Vásquez and Brahim Díaz, beating a Chelsea team that only managed to reduce the difference with a goal from Noni Madueke, thus marking the end of the Merengue team's participation in the Soccer Champions Tour 2024
Finally, Real Madrid managed to secure their first victory in the Soccer Champions Tour 2024. After suffering a couple of setbacks against AC Milan (1-0) and FC Barcelona (1-2), Carlo Ancelotti's side prevailed with a score of 2-1 against Chelsea. In this match, the goals for the Whites came courtesy of Lucas Vázquez (19') and Brahim Díaz (27'), while the 'Blues' pulled one back thanks to a strike from midfielder Noni Madueke (39').
Madridistas and Londoners starred in an exciting clash at the Bank of America Stadium, which from the outset proved to be a very lively 'clash', but one in which the Whites managed to quickly take the lead on the 'scoreboard'. In the 19th minute, after having threatened with a couple of serious chances created by 'Vini Jr.' and Brahim Díaz, the team from Chamartín managed to make it 1-0.

Brahim Díaz extends the lead for the Whites
This goal emboldened Real Madrid, who began to dominate the game even more. In the 27th minute, they extended their lead to 2-0. Once again, Vinicius Jr. stood out as the provider by sending a precise pass from the center of the field to Brahim Díaz. The latter decided to solve it individually when finding himself one-on-one with the Danish goalkeeper, getting rid of him with a subtle touch with his right foot and masterfully finishing with his left, despite the difficult angle.

These two goals in less than 10 minutes left Chelsea completely bewildered. However, near the end of the first half, in the 39th minute, the 'Blues' managed to pull one back in one of their rare dangerous opportunities. This time, it was Noni Madueke who, after receiving an excellent cross into the area from Enzo Fernández, won the aerial duel against Fran García. With a powerful header, he beat Courtois, thus crowning the last relevant chance of the first half.

The pace notably slowed down in the second half
In the second half, goal-scoring opportunities decreased. Despite threats from both teams to alter the scoreline, like an attempt from Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea) in the 47th minute and another from Brahim Díaz (Real Madrid) in the 49th, the pace of the match became more subdued and controlled. Multiple substitutions were made, with the Madridistas making seven changes and the Londoners, four.
Thus ended a match that, due to its lack of excitement, did not warrant the need for the referee to add extra time, concluding a game that helped Real Madrid improve their image ahead of their next big challenge of the year: the upcoming Supercup match against Atalanta at the National Stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday, August 14, a game that could mean the first title of the season for the Whites in 2024/25.
