Andreas Christensen could resolve Barça's market. The club needs to finalize an exit to gain salary margin, and Juventus and Manchester United want the Dane
With less than 10 days until the closure of the January transfer market, FC Barcelona still needs to finalize an exit to be able to afford the signing of some reinforcement for the first team. Ansu Fati was the main candidate to leave the club, but the player wants to continue under Hansi Flick and his departure would not generate much salary margin, so the focus is on the center of defense.
The existing 'overbooking' in the position forces the culés to part with some defender, and although Eric García was pointed out to be the great 'sacrificed' by the sports management, the offers that have come for his transfer are insufficient and Hansi Flick would be delighted to continue having the Martorell player in his ranks.
For that reason, Andreas Christensen has become the main target of the Catalan institution. The Dane remains unused despite being recovered from his left Achilles problems, which makes it clear that his situation in the team has changed. The player is, as of today, the last center-back in Flick's rotation, and a couple of major European teams want to take advantage of this situation to incorporate him into their squads.
United and Juventus want Christensen
According to 'SPORT', Juventus and Manchester United have reportedly knocked on the player's door in recent hours to convince him to join their teams. The 'bianconeri' insist on 'fishing' in the City of Barcelona, and after receiving a firm no for Ronald Araujo, the Nordic is their new target. The 'red devils', on their part, want to solve their problems in the backline with a reliable reinforcement, and the '15' blaugrana fits the profile they are looking for.
Despite this, Christensen's departure will only take place if the Dane agrees to leave the club this January, even if it is on loan with a non-mandatory purchase option. With a contract until 2026, the player is clear that he wants to fulfill his commitment to Barça. However, his changed role in the squad, where, in principle, Araujo, Cubarsí, and Iñigo Martínez are clearly ahead of him, could influence his final decision. More movements around the center-back are expected in the coming days.
