Aston Villa seeks to recover Rashford and would already have a plan to amortize his transfer. Barça, meanwhile, aims for Luis Díaz and Nico Williams
Marcus Rashford seems to be moving away from FC Barcelona in the summer market. Although the 27-year-old striker insists on waiting for a blaugrana offer, his last team, Aston Villa, could overtake the culés shortly with a formal offer to Manchester United.
The latest information points to the interest of those from Birmingham in recovering Rashford, a fixed discard for coach Rúben Amorim at Old Trafford. The bad relationship between the coach and the player led to his loan departure in January to the 'villain' team.
In the winter market, the English international also sounded like a possible reinforcement for Barça. However, the club's financial problems and the mess over the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor left the way clear for the 'villain' team.
Aston Villa's plan to close the signing of Rashford
According to the English portal 'Football Insider', Aston Villa would be willing to sell its women's team (Aston Villa Women FC) in the coming weeks to amortize the transfer of Marcus. The 'red devils' are asking for 40 million pounds (around 47 million euros) for the 27-year-old striker.
In the second half of 24/25, Rashford scored 4 goals and 6 assists in 17 games with those from Birmingham. Although he was not an undisputed starter, Unai Emery has given the 'Ok' to his signing.
Beyond the interest of the 'villain' team in negotiating his definitive transfer, the footballer has made it clear to his agent and Manchester United that his absolute priority is to wait for an offer from Barça. From there to the culés activating the operation, there is a long stretch to go.
First because the blaugrana team is not willing to pay 40 'kilos' or more to 'Man U' to sign him. Second, because the English international is the third market option for Hansi Flick's team, behind Nico Williams and Luis Díaz.
Rashford thanks Aston Villa, but prefers to wait for Barça
Last May 26, the Manchester native thanked Aston Villa, its fans and management for trusting him during the last semester of 24/25, with an emotional message announcing the end of his time in Birmingham.
"I know it's a great disappointment not to have made the Champions League place that everyone worked so hard for all season, but I know this club and team will come back stronger," wrote the English international.
In that sense, not being able to play in the next edition of the Champions League is a factor that weighs heavily in the choice of his next club. In addition, Marcus insists on waiting until the last moment for a culé offer, so he prefers not to negotiate with other teams yet.
For United, the ideal is to secure a definitive transfer. However, a new loan is not ruled out, since the 47 'kilos' they are asking for at Old Trafford are a difficult figure to reach for most teams interested in the winger (with the exception of the Arabs, of course).
