Barça does not plan to force Gerard Martín's departure, but is open to listening to offers for the left-back. How much does the club expect to earn from his transfer?
Gerard Martín is not a fixed discard for FC Barcelona in 2025/26, but he is on the list of transferables. The '35' scored 1 goal and 6 assists in 42 games (20 as a starter) and responded to the confidence of Hansi Flick to replace Alejandro Balde.
However, the club prefers to sign another left-back with more experience this summer to compete with Álex, untouchable on the left flank for the last three years. One of the names that convinces Deco the most is Alejandro Grimaldo (Bayer Leverkusen), as his transfer can be closed for a lower amount (15 million euros).

In that sense, Barça is clear about how much to ask for Gerard Martín if, finally, the 23-year-old defender agrees to negotiate with other clubs in the coming weeks. His performances in the final stretch of 24/25 allowed him to increase his valuation to 12 million on Transfermarkt (before it was worth 7.5 M€).
Therefore, the club plans to demand around 20 'kilos' for his transfer, understanding that he is a young defender with a very interesting projection. Clubs like Bournemouth and Wolverhampton are after his steps, although so far there is no formal offer for his transfer.
The Catalan made his debut with the first team in 24/25 after playing 41 games with the Barça subsidiary and another 59 with Cornellà. However, it was Flick who managed to exploit his offensive vocation, allowing him to participate in 7 goals during his debut season.
If the '35' decides to change his mind, he would have very good options to be an undisputed starter, but the options of Bournemouth and Wolverhampton do not quite convince him, especially because none of these teams will play in Europe in 25/26.
Gerard Martín's position does not vary: he prefers to stay in Barcelona
As things stand, the Catalan defender does not see his departure from Barça this summer clearly, even though he knows he is Alejandro Balde's substitute. Martín has the confidence of Hansi Flick and knows that, in the event of any setback for the '3', he will once again be the first alternative to cover the left side.
After a first half of the season in which he barely started in seven opportunities, several of them with quite discussed performances (against Osasuna, Celta and Las Palmas, mainly), in the final stretch of the season he was key for the team to win LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.
Gerard was a starter in seven of Barça's last eight games of the season, although in three of them he was replaced at half-time and only completed the regular minutes against Valladolid and Inter (in Italy).
In that sense, Flick trusts his talent to cover Balde's back, although the board prefers to incorporate another defender capable of disputing the '3''s starting position.
In any case, Martín will have the last word regarding his future, since he has a contract until 2028 and his termination clause is 100 million euros. In addition, his salary is one of the lowest in the squad, so his permanence does not represent an obstacle to register the new reinforcements. Yes, of course, with respect to the signing of another left-back.
