Barça hasn't lost sight of Karl Etta Eyong. The Cameroonian was on the culés' radar last summer and already has 5 goals in the first 8 matchdays of LaLiga 25/26
Karl Etta Eyong is one of the great revelations of the start of the season in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26. The 21-year-old forward was transferred to Levante in the final stretch of the summer market, after being rumored as a possible reinforcement for the subsidiary of FC Barcelona.
Finally, the Granota team paid 3 million euros for 50% of his sporting rights, 30% of the value set by Villarreal as the Cameroonian's release clause in the last transfer window.
Although the Barça option generated excitement for the Douala native, the possibility of playing mostly in the Second RFEF was not a viable alternative. In the first eight matchdays of LaLiga, Etta Eyong has proven that he is ready to establish himself in the European elite.
Karl Etta Eyong Already Has 5 Goals in 8 League Games
Karl scored 1 goal and provided a couple of assists with Villarreal in the first three matchdays, before leaving for Levante. With the Granota team, his offensive output has been remarkable: 4 goals and 1 assist in 5 matches, establishing himself in the lineup of coach Julián Calero.
In that sense, Barça is still closely monitoring the Cameroonian's growth, although the Azulgrana board is clear that, in 2026, it will have to negotiate a much higher price if it wants to acquire Etta Eyong's services.
Since September 1, his release clause has increased to 30 million euros. In addition, any club that wants him must pay half of his transfer fee to Levante and the rest to Villarreal, who can also recover him if they wish.
Karl scored 19 goals in 30 matches with the Castellón team's reserve squad. Previously, he scored 14 goals in 46 matches with Cádiz Mirandilla. The Canary team let him go for just 1.5 'kilos' in 2024, and his market value already reaches €20 million on 'Transfermarkt'.
Etta Eyong Gaining Momentum as Possible Lewandowski Replacement in Barcelona

If he continues at the top of the LaLiga goalscorers' standings, Barcelona do not rule out fully entering the race for Karl Etta Eyong. No longer thinking of a reinforcement for the reserve team or a future bet, but as a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
The Pole's contract ends in June 2026, and for now, there is no news regarding his renewal. 'Lewy's' start to the 25/26 season has been quite irregular, who at 37 years old does not seem willing to leave the European elite at the end of what will almost certainly be his last World Cup with Poland.
Could Etta Eyong be an alternative to Lewandowski next summer? For now, the favorite to replace the man from Warsaw as Barça's '9' is Julián Álvarez. The Argentinian, for now, has 7 goals (6 in the League) with Atlético de Madrid, along with 4 assists.
