Perisic is in the final stretch: PSV awaits his response and Barça analyzes his express signing
Recently, and perhaps unexpectedly, the name of Ivan Perišić has been linked to the agenda of FC Barcelona as a possible reinforcement for the attack. The Split native, an old acquaintance of Hansi Flick, has been considered as a 'low cost' option to give depth to the culé squad, with well-defined arguments:
- Experience and veteran status
- Versatility: he can play as a left winger, right winger, and even as an inside midfielder
- He would accept a secondary role
- Low salary
Perišić had a very interesting 2024/25 season at PSV
Beyond these elements, the Azulgrana team values that he comes from completing a very interesting season with PSV Eindhoven, adding 16 goals and 11 assists in 35 matches. A series of ingredients that make the idea that Barcelona, with Perišić, can pull 'a Szczęsny' and sign an experienced player to give him a new opportunity in the elite less crazy.
The alternative would be well received by Ivan himself, who would not mind taking on a new top-level adventure with the aim of arriving in optimal condition for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a tournament that Croatia aims to qualify for and in which he wishes to be present.
PSV pushes: imminent decision by Perišić?
However, the time to make a decision with Perišić seems to be shortening. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Croatian hopes to have clarity about his future before the end of June. This is because PSV's pre-season is scheduled to begin on the 30th, a team that has already extended a renewal offer and wants to know if they can count on him in their project.

So, in the face of the apparent absence of other proposals and the 'ultimatum' from the 'Farmers', Perišić must soon decide whether to continue in the Dutch team, which would have offered him a two-season contract. We will have to see if Barcelona ends up making a move for him in the coming days.
In principle, it does not seem to be a priority operation as is the case with Nico Williams, but his possible arrival would not be exclusive if the culés end up signing the Pamplona forward this summer. Perišić is seen as an interesting asset to strengthen the 'B unit' at a reduced cost.
Will FC Barcelona try to sign him as a direct request from Hansi Flick? It is not entirely clear, but what does seem certain is that the Croatian is willing to make every effort to facilitate his incorporation. Now the ball is in Barça's court.
