Barça is looking for another winger this summer and Ivan Perisic is the latest name on the Barça radar. Would it make sense to sign the experienced Croatian player?
The FC Barcelona board has several wingers on their radar for the upcoming summer market. One of the latest names associated with Barça, surprisingly, is that of Ivan Perisic, who is coming off an acceptable season with PSV Eindhoven.
Although he is a very veteran player (36 years old), Hansi Flick would give the 'ok' to his arrival, as he is a right winger who can cover the back of Lamine Yamal, also giving a hand to Jules Koundé in recovery.
The coach knows him well after his time at Bayern Munich (he won the treble in 2020 on loan). In addition, his extensive experience can be of great help in a very young dressing room, as has happened in 24/25 with the incorporation of Wojciech Szczesny.
And, financially, it would be an easy operation to fit for a Barça that also hopes to invest a significant sum in a left winger. For now, Luis Díaz is emerging as the favorite, but Marcus Rashford is gaining ground to finalize his departure from Manchester United.
Ivan Perisic, a 'low cost' reinforcement that can be of great help to Barça
In principle, Perisic will sign with Barça or any other team at 'zero cost', since his contract with PSV Eindhoven ends on June 30 and, for now, the Dutch club has not given any indication of wanting to renew it.
Similarly, his contract would not be a problem for the Barça wage bill. Last season, the Split native billed just 1.1 million euros net with PSV.

A season, by the way, where Ivan scored 9 goals and 9 assists in 27 Eredivisie matches. PSV completed an incredible comeback in the last five matches to win the league title, with the Croatian in a starring role.
The '5' was a starter in all five matches, scoring 6 goals, along with a couple of assists. Also, he scored 3 goals in 4 appearances (all as a substitute) in the Champions League, where the team reached the round of 16 after eliminating Juventus in the 'play off'.
Would Ivan Perisic have a place in Hansi Flick's Barça?
Without a doubt, he is a player with hierarchy who can be very useful as a replacement for Lamine Yamal in attack. And, except for Ferran Torres, the '19' does not have a fixed replacement, understanding that the 'Shark' has worked better as a '9' substitute for Robert Lewandowski.
Raphinha can also occupy the place of the Mataró native, but his best version came as an attacking midfielder/left winger last season. Hence, beyond the desire to incorporate another striker on the left, it also makes sense to reinforce the right side.
Deco himself admitted it in a recent interview. "We need another striker so we don't depend so much on Lamine and Raphinha." As such, Ivan Perisic could be a reliable 'hidden' player for the devastating Azulgrana attack. Will the board go for him?
