His performance and potential convince the heavyweights of the dressing room: what is his secret?
In the dressing room of FC Barcelona there are voices that carry weight; an example of this is that of Lamine Yamal, who would have expressed his desire to keep Fermín López from leaving the Barça team. In principle, despite the pretensions of other teams, the midfielder seems to be in the plans of the Catalan team for next season.
In turn, he finished the 2024/25 season being an important piece with eight goals and 10 assists in 2,039 minutes. Despite not being an undisputed starter.
In this sense, the attacking midfielder has a contract with Barça until June 2029, with a release clause of €500M, and for now, changing his mind is not in his plans. The '16' is also not on the list of players who could leave in the summer market, either on loan or sale.
Lamine Yamal and other important players want Fermín to stay at the club
According to the latest rumors, Lamine Yamal —the best player in the world today— expressed to the Barcelona board, headed by president Joan Laporta, that they cannot allow a player like Fermín López to leave the Barça team.

Similarly, other important names in the dressing room of the Catalan team, such as Pedri, Gavi or Alejandro Balde, also expressed their desire to continue having the player from Huelva as a teammate. This could have been generated because in recent days clubs from Germany, Saudi Arabia and England sounded out the player's situation, with the intention of knowing if they could add him to their squads for the next season.
Chelsea, Bayern and Al-Ahli asked about Fermín
At this point, the teams that asked about the attacking midfielder are Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Al-Ahli (from the Saudi Arabian league). However, the one from El Campillo would not have shown intentions of wearing another shirt than that of Barça.
Similarly, there is talk that the 'Blues' offered Barcelona to make a swap in which the French '9' Christopher Nkunku would enter, to which the Barça board responded with a 'no'. As for the Bavarians, they allegedly made an exploratory approach to learn about Fermín's situation and find out directly if the player was interested in changing teams, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
For its part, the last to join the interested parties would be Al-Ahli who, apparently, presented a very interesting economic proposal, but the Catalan team would not be willing to force the departure of the '16'. All this, despite needing to raise funds.
Although Barcelona needs to sell players to free up space in the wage bill, we will have to wait for the summer market to open to know if an irresistible offer arrives for both the club and Fermín López.
