Florian Wirtz joins Liverpool: record signing of the summer

One of the movements that were predicted as major summer market 'soap operas' of 2025/26 transfers has come to an end with relative ease. And yes, Liverpool has just made official the incorporation of the talented 22-year-old German attacking midfielder, Florian Wirtz.

Wirtz's first words as a 'Red'

Wirtz offered his first statements as a new Liverpool player to the club's official media:

"I feel very happy and very proud. It's finally done. I've been waiting for a long time and I'm very happy."

He also confessed to being excited about this new professional challenge: "I am very excited to have a new adventure ahead. This was also an important point for me: I wanted something completely new, to leave the Bundesliga and join the Premier League," he warned.

Regarding his objectives, the German 'star player' left no doubts: "I would like to win everything every year! First, we have to do our job, I have to do mine. In the end, we want to be successful. Last season they won the Premier League, so my goal is definitely to win it again and also go further in the Champions League. I am very ambitious," he emphasized.

A leap in quality after a brilliant stage in Germany
