The Barcelona management does not rule out incorporating another left-footed attacking midfielder/winger in the next winter market to cope with the injuries. In the MLS, the name of Heung-Min Son appears
The plague of injuries at FC Barcelona opens the door to the possible arrival of a reinforcement in the winter market. The forward line has been the hardest hit by injuries, with 4 of the 6 Barça attackers suffering some kind of muscular problem. For the moment, only the newcomers, Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji, have avoided a visit to the infirmary.
Robert Lewandowski has suffered a couple of injuries, while Raphinha has been on the sidelines for more than a month. Lamine Yamal has also not been at his best due to pubalgia, while Ferran Torres also suffered an overload after the last break.
Considering that both Fermín López and Dani Olmo have also missed several matches due to injury, the board does not rule out going for a 'low cost' reinforcement in January. Barça is not yet operating under the 1/1 rule, but the imminent return to the Spotify Camp Nou will be key to solving the club's problems with 'Fair Play' financial.
Heung-Min Son, possible 'dark horse' for Barça in the winter market
In that sense, one of the names on Barcelona's radar for the upcoming winter market would be Heung-Min Son. The former Tottenham legend, now with Los Angeles FC, does not rule out returning to Europe during the Major League Soccer (MLS) winter break.
The latest information points to the South Korean international as one of the candidates to take advantage of the so-called 'Beckham clause', which allows MLS stars to negotiate a short loan (for a maximum of six months) to a European club.
Son could lend a hand to Barça's attack, as an attacking midfielder or left winger, should the injury problems in the squad continue. For the time being, Hansi Flick has both positions well covered with Olmo, Raphinha, Fermín and Rashford, but if any of them were to suffer a serious injury, the team would be in trouble.
Would Heung-Min Son be a good addition to Barça?

During the last few weeks, youth players 'Dro' and Toni Fernández have had opportunities in the League and Champions League due to absences in the forward line. Heung-Min, 33, would be a very interesting addition due to his quality and experience. In addition, the Korean needs to stay in top physical condition to compete in what will be his last World Cup.
In his last year with Tottenham, the attacking midfielder totaled 7 goals and 10 assists in 30 Premier League matches. In addition, he was finally able to lift a trophy (the Europa League) as captain of the 'Spurs'. After his arrival in the MLS, he has accumulated 9 goals and 3 assists in 10 matches with LAFC, which is currently third in its conference.
Taking into account his physical condition and current level, Heung-Min Son still seems to be in a position to perform at the highest level in Europe. However, for Barça it would only make sense to sign a player with his characteristics in the event of suffering one or two long-term absences. For now, only Gavi is on that list.
Even so, the Barça board has not definitively closed the door to his signing or to another possible reinforcement in attack or defense for a Barça team whose squad has had a difficult start to the season due to injuries (12 in just over 2 months).
