Joan García's representatives appeared at the Azulgrana sports city to take the last key steps in the goalkeeper's signing for Barça
There is less and less room for doubt: Joan García will be an FC Barcelona player. And, as has been recently reported through various news sources, a representative of the 24-year-old Catalan goalkeeper —specifically, the lawyer who intercedes for him and his representation agency, Niagara Sports— attended the Azulgrana team's Ciutat Esportiva this Tuesday to hold a key meeting with the club.
The meeting, which lasted approximately an hour and a half, served to initiate the exchange of documentation prior to the payment of the termination clause.
This information coincides with what was commented by journalist Juli Claramunt, who, in a participation in the Twitch podcast Jijantes, revealed that Joan García had already signed the first documents necessary to become a new Barcelona player. After this, all that would remain is for LaLiga to review and validate the documentation so that Barça can proceed with the payment of the termination clause, stipulated at 25 'kilos'.
Joan García, one step away from Barcelona: LaLiga's validation would be missing
Once the documents are approved and the clause is paid, within the framework of one of the most important investments that the Catalan team has made for a goalkeeper in its history, it only remains to be known when the incorporation will be made official. The agreement contemplates a contract for five seasons, until June 2030, with which the culé team would obtain the services of one of the best goalkeepers of last season, and whose future is shaping up to be very promising.
Joan García's signing clarifies the future in Barça's goal
With this move, Barcelona would close its first incorporation of the summer and begin to clarify the situation in the goal. The arrival of Joan García —who, according to rumors, would arrive to directly assume the starting position, one of the main sporting attractions that drove his signing— puts the situation of Marc-André ter Stegen under the spotlight.
'MATS's future at the Barcelona club could be complicated if Barça, as has been commented on more than one occasion, ends up betting on the García-Szczęsny tandem as starter and substitute respectively. This would reduce the sporting options of Ter Stegen, who, however, seems reluctant to leave FC Barcelona this summer.
As he has shown on repeated occasions, the German continues to see himself as a player of the club, with which he has a contract until 2028, and is willing to fulfill it in its entirety. Not only that: he is prepared to fight with everything to maintain his role as starter.

The Azulgrana club, facing a dilemma: ¿let Ter Stegen leave or bet on tough competition?
This scenario poses a serious dilemma for the Azulgrana sports management. If they finally opt for a departure of the German goalkeeper, the culé team must explore all possible avenues to finalize an operation that will not be easy.
¿Will Barça manage to transfer him this summer or will Ter Stegen stay to fight for the starting position? There are no certainties. What does seem to be an imminent reality is that 'MATS', with his hierarchy, will hardly accept being second goalkeeper, especially in a season prior to a World Cup, where he needs continuity to continue being the '1' of Germany. The table is set for a new 'soap opera' in the Azulgrana goal.
