Million-dollar offer from Munich: irresistible temptation for Nico Williams?

The signing of Nico Williams by FC Barcelona is increasingly close to materializing. However, despite the fact that the scenario is quite favorable for the Azulgrana team to close the signing of the Pamplona forward, another of the teams interested in him, Bayern Munich, is not giving up on its desire to try to persuade him to join their squad in this summer market.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, the Munich team, taking advantage of the scenario in which Barcelona could not finalize the incorporation of 'La Roja''s '17' due to a financial 'fair play' issue, would have presented a second and succulent salary offer. As stated by the aforementioned source, Bayern Munich would have offered Nico Williams a net salary of 12 million euros. An amount that, according to the numbers of the web portal Capology, would place him as the second highest paid player in the Bavarian team, only behind Harry Kane (13.2 M€).

Likewise, this proposal would be economically more lucrative than the one that, according to reports, the FC Barcelona would have made. An offer estimated between 7 and 8 million net euros.

Agent demands and contractual conditions

This information arises, among other things, as a response to a series of events that have occurred recently. One of them would be related to the fact that the player's agent, Félix Tainta, would have asked for guarantees of being able to close his registration right at the moment of making the transfer official.

In addition, among these demands would also be to include in Nico Williams' contract with the club a clause that would allow dissolving the agreement if, in mid-August - when LaLiga starts - the winger cannot play the first match of the tournament. Conditions that the Catalan team would not be fully open to accepting.

Although Barcelona is in a position to pay the termination clause of the left winger to Athletic Club (58 M€+IPC) when it is pertinent to be able to obtain his services, it still has to resolve a series of key points related to his registration. A matter that Barça is currently managing.
