Barça awaits the final outcome of the 'Williams case'
FC Barcelona hopes, as a very secondary actor, that Nico Williams resolves his future. His contract with Athletic Club expires in June 2024 and, unless the script changes, he will extend it for a few more years
It is not a secret for anybody that, in the last months, the FC Barcelona has been especially attack to the situation of Nico Williams in the Athletic Club. It has showed that it is one of the big 'jewels' of the Spanish football and that it can turn one of the most important attackers of LaLiga. His speed, desparpajo and big finish turn him into a very dangerous footballer that anybody wants to 'toparse'. It is not a surprise that the blaugrana thought in him like alternative for his forward.
His agreement with the Athletic Club wins on 30 June 2024 and, during some time, the possibility that it extended his bond had remained in the air. It was the moment in which the Barça took part to try do with his services. They contacted to his agent to transmit the interest, but did not arrive to much more. The minor of Williams has very clear what wants to do to average term.
Williams aims to renew with the Athletic
It is foreseen that in the next days announce the extension of the agreement of Nico with the group of Saint Mamés. The Barça, as they explain from 'SPORT', has proof that it will be still in Bilbao except a twist of guion that, right now, seems unlikely. The Athletic has fulfilled with all the needs and requirements of the footballer to put him on the table a proposal that expect that it accept.
Still they do not have the "himself" definite, but are conscious that Nico is very happy in the team and that does not have the intention to go out by the rear door. They are optmistas and expect that his definite communication arrive in the next days so that the agreement was signed and announced. It foresees that, as it has happened up to now, the agreement include a clause of affordable rescission. The one of the current agreement was of 50 millone of euros.

In case that, finally, confirm the renewal of the player of 21 years with the square bilbaína, would be confirming the 'descarte' of the Barça regarding his possible incorporation to average term. Although it is a footballer that likes a lot in the club and that it could complement of ideal way the leading culé, po all what could contribute by the right extreme, only posed his incorporation in case that it arrived like free agent.
