Pau Víctor leaves a message that makes you think: his love for Barça does not prevent him from contemplating an exit. What awaits him this summer?
One of the players who doesn't seem to have his role so clear for the 2025/26 season of FC Barcelona is Pau Víctor. The 23-year-old forward, along with Dani Olmo, was one of the two additions that the Azulgrana team made for the 2024/25 season. However, his role in the Culé team was perhaps not what a player hungry for football could expect.
The player from Sant Cugat del Vallés played only 29 matches (379 minutes of play), in which he had the opportunity to score two goals and provide one assist, being practically the third option in the Azulgrana attack. Robert Lewandowski started as the '9' —and so it was for almost the entire campaign—, while Ferran Torres consolidated himself as Hansi Flick's preferred option to replace the Polish player, fulfilling that role effectively.
With this panorama, it is not surprising that Pau Víctor, who has a contract with Barcelona until 2029, is considering a possible departure in the next summer market. An option that he did not hesitate to acknowledge during his most recent public appearance.
Pau Víctor opens up about his future after playing with Catalonia
The '18' of the Barcelona team was called up by the Catalonia national team, which this Wednesday played a friendly against Costa Rica, in which they won 2-0, with goals from Antoniu Roca and Carles Aleñà. Beyond the result, Pau Víctor, who started as a starter on the left wing and played 45 minutes, at the end of the match was asked about his future as a player of FC Barcelona. The forward was clear:
"I have always said that I have been a Culé since I was little and I am living a dream, but the player is also ambitious and has to look out for himself. I don't know what will happen, as of today I wouldn't know what to decide. We have to talk things over and see what is best for both parties."

🧤When asked about Joan García: "I don't know if Tek will continue but we have three spectacular goalkeepers."

A statement that is in line with what he had previously commented on 'COPE', where, prior to the match between Catalans and Ticos, when asked about his future as a player of the team from the Condal City, he said:
"It is not known yet. Everyone knows that I have not had minutes, but I am at Barça, the best club in the world, and it is a pleasure. I would like to continue, but there are things that do not depend on me either. Many things have to happen and we will end up deciding what is best for everyone. I don't know if they will bring people in," he admitted.
The Catalan is willing to grow away from Barcelona: interested clubs
In that same interview, Pau also confessed that he has no clear preferences in case he has to leave the club, whether to continue in Spain or try his luck abroad. He revealed that he would like to play in "the club where I can grow; I don't care if it's here or abroad, because there are very interesting clubs all over the world."
A declaration of intent that makes it clear that he is open to any scenario in the next summer market, something that Barcelona should not overlook. Especially if the interest of clubs such as Valencia, Real Betis, Sevilla or Girona is confirmed, who would be assessing the best formula to get the forward: either through a loan that allows him to continue developing or even with a definitive transfer.
Pau Víctor speaks out about the situation of the goalkeepers at Barça
On the other hand, after the friendly against Costa Rica, Pau Víctor also briefly referred to one of the most burning issues in the Azulgrana key: the possible arrival of Joan García as a signing to reinforce the club's goal.
On this matter, the forward acknowledged that he does not know if Szczęsny will continue at Barça, but, beyond taking a position, he preferred to leave the decision in the hands of the sports management. "I don't know if 'Tek' will continue, but I think we have three spectacular goalkeepers, and those of us who are here are very happy. It is a matter for the sports management of the club. I am sure they will look for the best for everyone. I hope the best future is found for Joan, who is a great person," he concluded.
