Joao Félix is waiting for a 'saving' offer in the final stretch of the winter transfer market. The Portuguese player is a substitute at Chelsea, but he may find a spot at AC Milan or Aston Villa

Joao Félix's future could take an unexpected turn in the final stretch of the winter transfer market. The former player of Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona has not managed to earn the trust of coach Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, where he has barely accumulated 947 minutes of action spread over 20 appearances, with 7 goals and 2 assists. However, he has two very interesting options to try to 'save' his season.

On one hand, there is AC Milan, which this week finalized the loan of Álvaro Morata to Galatasaray. The 'rossoneri' hope to incorporate the Mexican Santiago Giménez (Feyenoord), but they would also go for Joao, a reinforcement requested by coach Sérgio Conceição. The San Siro team can incorporate both forwards, thanks to the departure of Morata and Francesco Camarda, who was also loaned to Monza.

Unai Emery also wants Joao Félix for Aston Villa

The other alternative for Félix is nothing less than Aston Villa. The sporting director of the Birmingham team, Monchi, admitted this week the interest of coach Unai Emery in the player from Viseu, in an interview for the 'SER' network. According to the Spanish executive, the club will try to take advantage of the transfer of Colombian John Durán to Saudi Al Nassr to negotiate with Chelsea, although the operation will not be easy.

"Emery trusts Joao, he has wanted him in the four transfer windows I have been here", added Monchi. In that sense, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder could ensure a move to a Champions League team in the coming hours. Milan will play the 'play-off' against Feyenoord, while Aston Villa awaits a rival in the round of 16. Chelsea, on the other hand, must resign itself to trying to win the Conference League.
