Several rumors point to Manchester United's interest in Raphinha with a record offer. The 'Red Devils' would be willing to pay €160M to Barça!

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Raphinha could star in the transfer of the year in Europe, as long as he agrees to negotiate with Manchester United. Rúben Amorim's team has had the Brazilian in their sights for a long time and the latest information points to a brutal offer, very difficult to reject for the player and FC Barcelona.

In principle, 'Man U' would be willing to pay 160 million euros net for the 28-year-old winger. Rafa closed the 24/25 season with 34 goals and 23 assists, being, together with Mohamed Salah, the player in the five major leagues with the most direct involvements in goals (57).

At the moment, the Porto Alegre native has a contract until 2028 after his most recent renewal, while his release clause remains at 1,000 'kilos'. Barça closed the most expensive sale in history in 2017 with the transfer of Neymar to PSG (€222M), but has no intention of repeating this scenario with Raphinha in 2025.

United wants to break records in England with Raphinha

In that sense, United would be willing to go all out for the South American forward. Rúben Amorim does not count on Marcus Rashford nor Alejandro Garnacho and seeks to turn Barça's '11' into the new star of his sports project.

To do this, those from Old Trafford could put 160 'kilos' on the table, a figure that no English club has reached so far in the market. Chelsea, in 2023, set the historical limit at 121 million with the signing of the Argentine Enzo Fernández.

Previously, Manchester City had paid €117.5M for Jack Grealish (2021), a player who is now on Pep Guardiola's list of discards. As for sales, Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool) holds the record in 2019 after his signing for Barça in exchange for €135M.

💶The most expensive signings in Premier League history:

  1. Enzo Fernández: 121 million (Chelsea, 2023)
  2. Jack Grealish: 117.5 million (Manchester City, 2021)
  3. Declan Rice: 116.6 million (Arsenal, 2023)
  4. Moisés Caicedo: 116 million (Chelsea, 2023)
  5. Romelu Lukaku: 113 million (Chelsea, 2021)

Barça needs to close a 'top' sale this summer: will Raphinha be the one sacrificed?

For Barça, the possibility of receiving such an amount for one of its forwards is undoubtedly tempting. Firstly, because Raphinha, beyond his enormous 24/25 season, will turn 29 in December and a transfer of that magnitude would almost double his current market value (€90M).

In addition, an income of that proportion would solve Barça's 'Fair Play' problems outright, without counting the salary margin that his file frees up (€12 'kilos' gross per year). However, the club would only give the green light to the departure of the '11' if the player so wished.

Something that, for the moment, will not happen, since the Porto Alegre native is only thinking about continuing to win titles with the Barça shirt. And, in the case of United, their complex sporting situation (they will not play in European competitions in 25/26) does not help the 'Red Devils' either.
