FC Barcelona remains expectant of what may happen with Francisco Trincão and his situation at Sporting CP during this 2025/26 summer transfer market. Although the Blaugrana side parted ways with the Portuguese forward a few seasons ago, they still retain a future sale clause, through which they could receive no less than 50% of the capital gain that the Lions obtain from an eventual sale of the winger.

From the Lisbon-based team, however, the idea of letting Trincão leave this summer does not seem, in principle, the most viable. The team led by Rui Borges would not be willing to suffer another significant loss in attack, in a market in which they already lost their main goalscorer: Viktor Gyökeres. A loss that, while representing a significant financial inflow —€63M—, strongly impacts the sports planning of the Portuguese.

Sporting CP wants to secure Francisco Trincão until 2030

According to the Portuguese newspaper Record, Sporting CP wants to renew Trincão's contractual link, currently valid until June 30, 2027. However, aware of the latent risk of losing one of their most decisive players, the Lisbon team would be willing to offer him a new agreement, befitting his status, to avoid his departure.

The proposal would include an extension of the contract until 2030, accompanied by a significant salary increase. The objective: to ensure the continuity of one of their main offensive resources, a key piece for Borges' scheme in the coming years.

Al Nassr enters the scene with a tempting proposal

Despite Sporting CP's desire to retain Trincão, his name continues to resonate strongly in the transfer market. Several clubs remain attentive, especially because the attacker has not yet renewed his link with the Portuguese team.

In recent hours, there has been speculation about a strong interest from Al Nassr, a team that has Cristiano Ronaldo as its main reference and that has reinforced its attack with other Portuguese players such as João Félix and Otávio. The Saudi team would be preparing a millionaire proposal —without specific amounts revealed— to try to incorporate the winger during this same summer window.

Regardless of the scenario, Trincão already has a price. Portuguese media reports that his termination clause amounts to €80M, an amount that Sporting will probably refer to in case of receiving proposals. The intention of the Portuguese is clear: they will not facilitate a standard negotiation, as happened with the recent departure of Gyökeres.

An 80 million clause: And a lever for Barça?

Now, if this clause is activated, Barcelona would remain very attentive. The Catalan team could receive a significant sum, understanding that it retains 50% of the capital gain on a future sale. If the transfer is completed for the total of the clause, and considering that they sold him for €7M, the Culés could pocket approximately €36.5M. An authentic lever in the middle of the summer market.

However, if Trincão finally decides to renew his contract with Sporting CP, Barça's options of obtaining some economic benefit this summer would be drastically reduced. A decision that would seal any possibility of immediate income from the Catalan team in relation to the attacker.
