Hansi Flick reviewed his first season at Barça, praised his players and made clear his great goal for next season: to conquer the Champions League
Hansi Flick, coach of FC Barcelona, gave an interview to the club's streaming platform, 'Barça One', in which he touched on several topics regarding his first and successful year as coach of the Blaugrana team. The German coach began by highlighting how positive it has been to work at the club:
"We can be happy. It is very good to work with these fantastic players, but also for this club. In the end, for FC Barcelona it is always like this: you must win titles"
In turn, Flick admitted to feeling very good about the excitement generated in Barcelona after a year full of achievements. He also assumed the responsibility of keeping the bar high for next season:
"In the celebration parade we saw many people crying, because they were very happy and satisfied with the team, with what we have achieved this season. This is, for me, the greatness of our work. We can contribute to others, to the fans, to the players, that they are happy. Now I have the responsibility to work hard again next season. I feel I must do it. It's my job and I'll do it for them," he said.

Barcelona's reaction to the most difficult moments of the season
The German also praised the ability of Barça to recover from the slump suffered in the months of November and December, when the team was given up for lost by many sectors. The team knew how to redirect the situation with character and quality:
"November and December were not easy for us. But we remained calm and believed in what we were doing. It was a difficult moment, but in the end we were able to continue on the right track. I told the team that, playing this way, we would win again," he said.
And he stressed that he never doubted that his players could reverse that slump:
"Here in Barcelona, sometimes people think too negatively. We lost, yes, but we played very well; I asked them to remain calm, to believe in the team, and then we would see what happened"
Hansi also boasted about the mentality and performance of his players: "They have quality, they are hungry, good attitude, good mentality... and you can see that there is a lot of potential. We work a lot on this, and we are doing many things the right way," he explained.
Praise for Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Pedri: the keys to the future of the club
Flick also had words for some of his players. He started with Raphinha, who had a memorable season: "Raphinha needs confidence. He has quality, but he also has heart, the right mentality and attitude. In addition, he always helps us in defense. He has a lot of potential," he emphasized.
Then he spoke about the recently renewed jewel, Lamine Yamal, of whom he highlighted his quality and gave him valuable advice to stay at the top:
"Lamine Yamal is a genius. But I think we must help him because he is young and, now, everything seems easy, but it is not. If you want to play the next 15 years at that level, you must also train and work very well; mentally, you must also be at the highest level"
He also referred to Pedri González, pointing out his importance in the structure of the team and his desire to make him one of the pillars of the project: "It's fantastic to see Pedri play. The game improves with him. For me, he could be one of the leaders in the coming years. I will help him achieve it, because he is a fantastic player, and I think he could also be a fantastic leader," he asserted.
The importance of teamwork and the technical staff in Barça's success
Later, Flick wanted to highlight the key of collective work for Barcelona to reach its best version: "The only thing I can do is give my best. But, of course, I am not alone. I have many coaches, therapists, doctors, analysts... That is what is important. We are a group with great experts, and we help the players to improve," he warned.
"It is important to have the best physical trainer, the best people in Barcelona, because here there is a totally different philosophy. This player needs a way of working that adapts to that philosophy of play, and for me, that has also been the great work of Deco, because he has brought in players with a lot of experience," he said.
Flick's ambition: to make the definitive leap towards the Champions League
Finally, Flick showed his ambition by pointing out that the team must take a step forward to fight for the Champions League: "We work hard and try to play at the highest level, and that is the Champions League. In addition, we want to win the title. I know it is not easy, but we must work hard and stay united," he concluded.
