Flick's message after renewing with Barça: maximum ambition for 25/26

FC Barcelona closed the renewal of Hansi Flick until June 2027, extending by one year the contract that the manager signed last summer. During his first season, the German led the team to win the national treble (League, Cup and Super Cup), in addition to reaching the first Champions League semi-final in six years.

After the official signing of his new contract, the Heidelberg native sent a very emotional message to the Barça fans, thanking them for the support and affection given during the 2024/25 season. In addition, he valued the potential of the squad to continue winning titles next season.

"I am happy that this journey continues. We have a lot of potential in this very young team. We deserve everything we achieved this season and I am very happy to work in Barcelona," the manager began by saying.

In that sense, he added: "Working for this incredible club and, of course, with all these players because I think that we have a very good relationship. Next season we will start from scratch and we have to work hard as we have done before."

Flick is clear: Barça will go for the treble again

In addition, the coach reiterated the need to improve some aspects, but above all to maintain the winning mentality to fight again for all the titles at stake in 2025/26.

"We know that we have to improve and we will. I want the same as in the last season, because I can say that we tried everything. We worked hard, we tried to improve and, of course, we want to win titles. This is Barça," Flick pointed out.

The manager only renewed until 2027 by his own decision, a position he had revealed weeks ago. "I am not a coach who wants to sign 3 more years and think that I have the future secured. I have my own mentality, I like to work for this club, the best in the world; I really appreciate what we have achieved."

Joan Laporta, happy to secure the continuity of Hansi Flick in Barcelona

For his part, Joan Laporta also dedicated a message of gratitude to the manager after signing his new contract. Flick was a personal bet of the president after the break with Xavi Hernández, for which he maintains an excellent relationship with the entire culé technical staff.

"Hansi, thank you for continuing to expand the history of Barça, the best club in the world. The Barça fans love you and we trust you to continue guiding our players to victory!", Laporta wrote after the official act at the club's headquarters.

The parties had closed the agreement for several weeks, but it was decided to wait for the achievement of the League title to make the official announcement. In this way, Barça ensures the continuity of the sports project led by the German, at least, for two more seasons, with maximum enthusiasm to continue reaping victories and titles after the expected return to the Spotify Camp Nou.
