The Barça vetoes the commercial use of images of the Camp Nou

The digital newspaper "Expansion" explains this Thursday in his page that the Upper Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has vetoed the commercial use of images of the Camp Nou by part of the tourist sector in what it considers an aprovechamiento of his prestige.

An information of which does echo afterwards dela sentence in which it estimates the resource of the Football Club Barcelona against the Spanish Office of Patents and Marks (OEPM), and cancels an industrial design that consisted in covers of calendar in which they appeared emblematic images of the city of Barcelona, being one of them a photography of the interior of the stadium, with a consistent mosaic in the blue bands and grana and the word Barça. 

The Barça alleged that it supposed an unauthorised use of a work protected by an intellectual property right, all time that the image of the stadium that reproduced in the design was titularity of the club, the one who in fact reproduced it in his web page. Besides, it sustained that it suffered from of fault of novelty and of singular character.

Josep Carbonell, partner of Jausas that has defended to the Barcelona, considers that the sentence "puts coto to a very extended practice in the last years, consistent in the proliferation of industrial designs directed to the tourist sector in which under the pretext to show a selection of elements or emblematic images of the city of Barcelona, what to the dessert carries out is an unauthorised exploitation of notorious marks, with the consistent aprovechamiento of his prestige and dilution of his distinctive character".

It is evident that the 'mark Barça' is worldwide known. The city knows it and takes out cut of this. To some extent, logical.
