Tito Vilanova has died this Friday in the afternoon, after two years and half of fight against the cancer. An illness that already did that it had to abandon his charge like trainer of the Barça the past summer. It did a week that the one of Bellcaire was ingresado in the Clinical Quirón of Barcelona. Some gastric problems had aggravated his situation and in the last days his state of health had worsened notably until his death this afternoon
Been born 45 years ago in Bellcaire, Tito Vilanova left the bench of the Barça in July of 2013, to centre in the recovery of his illness. Alas, it has not been able to it surpass and has died this Friday in Barcelona after two years and half of fight.
On 22 November 2011 and with the Barça in Milan, Tito Vilanova went through the operating theatre by a tumor in the gland parotid. Fifteen days later, and still without the high medical, Vilanova went back to the trainings. Almost of unexpected way, the technician seated in the bench of Santiago Bernabéu three days later. Vilanova Finished the season with total normality, until the point that accepted without problems the charge of trainer after the exit of Guardiola. In the month of June was presented.
To finals of December of 2012, Tito Vilanova recaía for the first time and had to go back to subject to treatment in New York. Around the middle of January travelled to the United States and, during two months, Jordi Roura did charge of the Barcelona team. The treatment forced him to travel some time more to New York to do a follow-up of the illness, but had been able to it make compatible with the responsibility in the team, what also thought to do the season 2013-2014.
Space of condolencias in the Camp Nou
In the next hours, the FC Barcelona will enable a space of condolencias in the main grandstand of the Camp Nou, opened to the one who want to show his memory and affection to the figure of Tito Vilanova. The club has communicated that will inform on time of the opening schedule of this space of condolencias, as well as of the religious ceremony that will celebrate in the next days.
