Dani Olmo completed his first great match of the 25/26 season against Getafe (3-0). The player from Terrassa provided a backheel assist and closed the scoring with a beautiful goal, in addition to playing the 90 minutes
FC Barcelona thrashed Getafe at the Estadi Johan Cruyff (3-0) on a day with a remarkable performance for Dani Olmo. In his second match as a starter in 2025/26, the player from Terrassa recovered his best version, again occupying the attacking midfielder position instead of Fermín López.
The '20' had only entered the starting XI against Rayo, completing a rather discreet performance in Vallecas. However, against the 'azulón' team, he was much more involved playing behind Barça's attacking trident. Together with Pedri González, the player from Egara was in charge of leading the Azulgrana attack, giving the forwards more options to find spaces.
Magical assist from Dani Olmo and end to a four-month streak without scoring in La Liga

In the 15th minute, Barça managed to open the scoring thanks to a spectacular play. Raphinha filtered a pass to Olmo, who made a diagonal run surprising the Getafe defense. However, the attacking midfielder was left very wide, with little angle to finish and chose to resolve with a 'crack' move.
Dani flicked a backheel pass, knowing that Ferran Torres was running behind him. The '7', with the entire goal at his disposal, blasted David Soria, finishing first-time. A great goal from which the Madrid team never managed to recover, in the middle of a real downpour at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Ferran himself extended the lead in the 34th minute and, in the second half, Olmo would seal the score in the 62nd minute. Already with Marc Casadó and Marcus Rashford on the field, the '17' played a lethal long ball for 'Rashy'.
The Englishman broke down the right and, as he was not in a position to shoot either, chose to play the pass back. Dani was following the play and took advantage of the loose ball entering the edge of the area to finish with class against Soria.
The player from Terrassa had not celebrated a goal in La Liga since matchday 38 of last season, against Athletic (0-3). That day he also scored the last Azulgrana goal, from a penalty, to close a great season for Hansi Flick's team.
Dani Olmo opens up about his performance and talks about the Camp Nou
In 24/25, Dani Olmo scored 12 goals and provided 7 assists in 39 appearances. In the current season, the player from Egara has one goal and a couple of assists in 6 matches. After his remarkable performance against Getafe, the 27-year-old player revealed the key to recovering his best version.
"What I need is minutes to get into rhythm. Happy to continue adding", he commented in an interview for 'DAZN'. In addition, he expressed the team's excitement to return to the Spotify Camp Nou, although Flick's team has felt very comfortable at the Johan Cruyff.
"I like the stadium. It's beautiful and welcoming. We want to go to the Camp Nou, but that moment will come. Hopefully soon", the player from Terrassa pointed out. Although the board has not yet confirmed the return date, the club is confident in playing at the culé temple next Sunday against Real Sociedad.
