Telefónica does with the rights of LaLiga in front of Mediapro

Finally it has desvelado the incógnita on the company that will have the rights of the football of face to the next campaigns. It treats of Telefónica, that has remained with the blocks of parties of the rights of television of the championships of League of First and Second Division.

The rights will keep in said company for the three next seasons, from the 2019-2020 to the 2021-2022. In total, will arrive to pay 3.421 million euros by the television agreement, an inferior quantity to the expected. In fact, Javier Thebes had foreseen a cost of 3.900 million euros.

The total price, besides, supposes an increase of 15% compared with the last auction of the rights, taking into account that they paid 2.978 millions by the three last seasons. Besides, the current price will add 1.140 millions by each one of the three seasons, an increase of 250.

Telefónica, in this case, has purchased two packages that include the eight parties by day and The Partidazo, whereas Mediapro has paid a total of 481 million euros to remain with the package of the bars, the rights of the summaries in scoop  and the international parties.

The increase of price for doing with the rights of the football has not seated well to several companies. Orange, Vodafone and Movistar have showed his dissatisfaction by the increase of the prices, that have gone going up progressively until an increase of 250 million euros by season in the current price.

Clubs, operators adjudicators, sponsors and, very especially, the fans to the football, come off well with this contest".
