The referees admit that there are problems with the VAR in League

The Technical Committee of Referees gathered this Tuesday in Brush Them to value the use of the VAR in LaLiga in what it goes of season 2018-2019. The ex referees Carlos Velasco Carballo, president of the CTA (Referee's Technical Committee), and Carlos Clos Gómez, director of the Project VAR, went the attendants to value and give the pertinent explanations on the use of this new modality of arbitration.

The VAR arrived this campaign to LaLiga with the intention to help to the referees and to eradicate the controversy and the injustices in the football. But already they go almost six months of competition liguera and the referee's controversies follow becoming the norm. Several teams, between them the Real Madrid, the Raise or the Getafe, already have showed his disconformidad with the use that the referees are giving him to the VAR. But neither Clos Gómez neither Velasco Carballo give him to importance to these complaints and affirm that "we are so accustomed to the criticisms that accept them like part of our work".

"Yes that it is truth that have had incidents in final moments of the parties that have to improve"

In spite of everything, the ex referees do something of self-criticism and admit that until the moment there have been errors in the use of the VAR and that follow trying unify the criteria of all the referees. "We try to show videos to our referees and transmit them our thoughts. But it is very difficult that all agree in the criterion of if a played is red or no, self-evident occasion of goal or no, or if it is yellow or no. We try to limit this but, for the moment, follows having different criteria", explained.

Continuing with the self-criticism that the clubs affected by errors of the VAR asked from does weeks, Velasco Carballo also admitted that along this campaign so much the referees like the own VAR have committed errors that it is necessary to amend little by little. "Yes that it is truth that have had incidents in final moments of the parties that have to improve. Also we have to improve in the performance of brusque and grave game. This is the continuous work to unify our criteria being the aim the error 0", commented.

They encourage to the referees to be followed pitando as always

"The referee has to act as if it did not exist the VAR, as it has done always. Never it is he the one who asks it. But all the incidents chequean. In case that it have not done at all punishable there is silence, in case that there is informs him always, explained Clos Gómez. Until the moment the teams that have showed his dissatisfaction with the VAR admitted not knowing cual was the criterion for rearbitrar or no a played, but according to the ex referee seems that all the played are studied. 

It was as it was, the VAR has arrived to LaLiga to remain and it will be necessary to have patience with his use. Until the moment the controversies have sucedido, but according to the CTA little by little the criteria of all the referees will go unifying to improve the VAR and to go on doing of the football a juster sport.
