Competition Comitee fines Barça with 300 euros and resolves the Griezmann case

The conflict between the FC Barcelona and the Athletic of Madrid by the signing of Antoine Griezmann has remained resolved this Thursday after the intervention of the Committee of Competition. The 'colchoneros' demanded that the culés went penalised for having negotiated with a player with agreement, but finally the pertaining organism to the Spanish Federation of Football has resolved the case with a symbolic punishment because it considers that the infringement committed is not of grave character.

The Barcelona are forced to pay 300 euros, but will not have to face the closing of the Camp Nou, a measure that had requested the rojiblancos. His first complaint demanded a remarkable economic compensation, since it did reference to the 200 million euros of the clause of rescission of the French when, according to his own investigations, began to negotiate his traspaso -finally paid the 120 that marked from July-.

Although the Madrilenian defend that these conversations took place in March, has not tested that it existed a document that linked to the forward of Macon with the entity barcelonista while it still was tied by his club, although yes it has showed that there was diverse meetings without warning previously and by writing that would have developed in May, what constitutes a fault by which the Catalans have been fined.

In spite of this decision, Competition understands that the error is of slight character, because in this moment, in Wanda Metropolitan already had the warning of the crack, that had expressed his wish to change of airs. This would be sufficient to adjust to the rule, that pursues that "the club with agreement in force have the possibility to react in front of said situation or, at least, know it to the effects that went timely".

Competition assumes that the sanction is symbolic

Competition assumes that the sanction is "symbolic" because it does not adjust to the economic parameters of the case Griezmann neither to the economic potential of the Barça, and clears that it does not seat a precedent for future disputes neither expects to deter the clubs with his application. Besides, it finish specifying that the closing of the stadium is a reaction that does not correspond with this type of infringements:

"It is evident that the quantity of the economic sanction does not save proportion any with the importance of the facts that have given origin to the present file. Taking into account the economic capacity of the club and the amount of the economic operation that has given origin to this file, this Committee is conscious that the payment of 300 euros, further of his merely symbolic character (the fine imposes because the club expedientado has been considered author of a disciplinary infringement), will not contribute to that the club sanctioned in particular and, probably, other clubs that can be in the future in the same situation, adapt his behaviour to the required in accordance with the regulations".

"However, this is not sufficient reason so that this Committee opt by the imposición of a sanction -the closure of the stadium by a party- that as it affirms the Mr. Instructor, seems to be thought for infringements of another nature".
