Milan approaches Christensen and Barça could get economic benefit in the summer transfer market thanks to a departure that gains strength
FC Barcelona plans to finalize one or two departures in the defensive section this summer market, given the surplus of defenders in the squad. Under this premise, one of the names that gains more strength to leave the club in this summer window is the 29-year-old Danish defender, Andreas Christensen. A player who still raises interest in more than one top-level European team.
In this sense, apparently the name of Andreas Christensen is sounding strongly to reinforce one of the greats of Europe this summer. According to reports from Italy, specifically the newspaper Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan would have the '15' on their agenda to reinforce their defensive line.
The aforementioned information also suggests that the 'rossoneri' team wants to take advantage of the current situation of the Dane —his contract ends in 2026—, to acquire his services at a relatively affordable cost. In addition, it states that the player from Lillerød is not currently a priority for Massimiliano Allegri's team.

Milan prioritizes Leoni, but values Christensen
In turn, 'Il Diavolo' would be willing to mainly reinforce with the promising defender from Parma, Giovanni Leoni (18 years old). However, despite the fact that Christensen does not appear on the list of priorities, the fact that he is an apparent market opportunity and that he is a highly experienced player —with stints at Chelsea and Barcelona itself— positions him in good esteem for a possible incorporation valued by the sports management of AC Milan.
At this point, it is worth remembering that recently information suggested that the Danish defender, although his priority is to remain in the team from the Ciudad Condal, he would see with good eyes landing in Italian football. This, as long as Barcelona does not offer him the necessary conditions to have minutes and continuity.
Christensen's future will depend on Flick and the market
At this point, it will be necessary to assess how Christensen's future ends up being resolved, depending to a large extent on Hansi Flick's criteria. For the moment, the Dane is scheduled to start the pre-season on July 13. However, it is still a latent reality that, due to the player's market value —added to the fact that he arrived as a free agent in 2022— a transfer would mean a net benefit for the institution.
Likewise, from a sporting point of view, he seems to be the fourth or fifth option for the defensive line, which could lead to his departure at any time this summer. A question motivated by the club's need to make movements to undertake new incorporations and registrations.

Everything will depend, first, on the offer that can be made for the player and, second, on the sporting importance that the German coach gives him. It could also influence the fact that it is known that Andreas Christensen, when he is free from injuries, can be a very interesting asset to have.
His versatility —he can act as a defender or midfielder— and his technical conditions have already shown that he can adapt with relative ease to the idea of the game established in the Barça team.
