Barça returned to work on Wednesday with Lewandowski, Olmo, and Joan García training on the field, but with the bad news of Pedri's injury. The midfielder will be out for around a month

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The FC Barcelona squad returned to work on Wednesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper with good and bad news regarding physical condition. Pedri González, who had come to train during Tuesday's day off, suffered a tear of the distal biceps femoris muscle in his left leg that will keep him out of action for 3 to 4 weeks.

The midfielder, in this way, joins the list of injured Barça players, which now has 8 names. Of these, 3 are in the final stretch of their recoveries, as is the case with Robert Lewandowski, Dani Olmo and Joan García. The Pole also trained normally on Monday and is expected to be available for Sunday's match against Elche.

Olmo, however, could reappear on Wednesday in the visit to Bruges for the Champions League. There are also good feelings with García, but Szczesny's good performances in goal generate peace of mind in the coaching staff. Therefore, it would not be strange to wait until after the November break to see the man from Sallent as a starter again.

Christensen, Raphinha... This is the state of Barça's infirmary at the end of October

Less clear is the outlook with Andreas Christensen. The Dane missed the last two matches due to a viral condition and gastroenteritis, but now he is suffering a minor injury to his right soleus that could also keep him out of the Barça-Elche match.

For Sunday, in addition to Pedri, Raphinha is also ruled out. The Brazilian relapsed from his injury to his right thigh and will probably be out until mid-November, as will the Spanish midfielder. The '8', suffering a muscle tear, must stop for around a month, which could also mean he misses the match against Athletic (11/22).

The Basques will be the first rival for the *culés* after the break. And, considering that Lewandowski is also coming off a similar injury, it wouldn't be strange for him to be on the bench against Elche. The Pole has already suffered two muscular setbacks this season and, considering Rapha's precedent, the club will redouble its care with each player in the *azulgrana* infirmary.

Gavi and Ter Stegen, meanwhile, are currently the only long-term absentees. The German continues his post-operative process and hopes to be medically cleared before the end of the year. The Andalusian, however, will be out until at least the end of February.
