In an interview conceded to 'The Energy of The Red', Pedro Rodríguez has spoken on how were his beginnings futbolísticos in the FC Barcelona, to the that left when it was a boy to struggle by a dream that would fulfil years afterwards. The Canarian attacker would advise him to a boy that want to be footballer of elite that "work a lot, that enjoy of the day in day out of this so beautiful sport but also that it is sacrificed and that goes to find a lot of things that has to shelve. Pedro Rodríguez remembers perfectly how was the call of the FC Barcelona. "When it called me the Barça there was familiar debate. I remember this day, after playing an international tournament in Tenerife. They came the ones of the Barça and called me. I explained it to him to my brother and he, that always has been of the Barça, no believed it to him. Afterwards my parents valued this possibility, always difficult, of when have a small son and do not know what goes to happen. But I had clear that wanted to test this experience and at the end came and had the luck to be able to learn until today".

During the first days, the adaptation to The Farm was difficult. "I cried, I had a bad time the first months. The adaptation to The Masia was hard. Many times it took the telephone to call to my parents but they always had words of support. They said me that it struggled, that was a good opportunity, that was calm. Afterwards already I went me adapting. These experiences are good because they do you strong". Pedro Rodríguez does not have problem in recognising who have been his idols.

"My idol was Rivaldo, fixed me a lot in him. Afterwards I have gone playing with grandísimos players like Leo Messi, that also is an idol for me. It is the best player of the world", ensures, adding that "in the selection my referents have been Carles Puyol, Iker Boxes and Xavi Hernández because they have been an example by his character, delivery and professionalism".
