The works of the new Camp Nou will begin in 2018

The FC Barcelona has arrived to an agreement with the city council of the city to carry out the project of the Space Barça, that includes the transformation and remodeling of his installations in the Barcelonan neighbourhood of Them Corts. A project importantísimo for the future of the club. "It will change our history"; it explained Bartomeu. 

The agreement foresees the integral reform of the Camp Nou, the construction of the new Palau Blaugrana and the conditioning like public space of the surroundings of the stadium. The Barça foresees to do a Space Barça opened to the city by which will yield 14.000 square metres of floor in municipal property to turn into it green zone.

The negotiations were difficult

Thanks to this agreement with the city council, that has made public this Thursday, the club will begin to finals of June of 2018 the works to remodel all the space, that include the demolish of the Miniestadi. In parallel, it will begin the construction of the new field for the Barça B, the feminine and other teams of the club will situate in the Sportive City and will carry the name of Johan Cruyff.

The ambitious plan of remodeling also includes a hotel of luxury and a destined building to receive headquarters of sponsors and of companies linked with the FC Barcelona. The total cost of the project as it is conceived will add some 600 million euros and will occupy, as a whole, some 275.000 square metres.

As it is usual in these cases, the Barça will take advantage of the periods of time in which there is not sportive activity in the Camp Nou -that is to say, in summer and perhaps some week of Navidad-, but will continue working periodically along the four seasons that will last the process, without need that the first team have to change his emplazamiento. It expects also that the fans hardly suffer alterations in his seats.
