Raphinha finished fifth in the 2025 Ballon d'Or voting awarded by 'France Football'. The Brazilian was the second best nominee from Barça, only surpassed by Lamine Yamal (2nd)
'France Football' presented this Monday the winners of the 69th edition of the Ballon d'Or gala. Finally, Raphinha finished in 5th place in a voting led by Ousmane Dembélé. The Paris Saint-Germain winger took the award, surpassing Lamine Yamal.
The player from Mataró, at just 18 years old, won the Silver Ball and the Kopa Trophy, while Vitinha (PSG) took third place in the ranking after winning practically everything with PSG and lifting the Nations League with Portugal.
Curiously, ahead of Rafa appeared Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool striker equaled the records of the Barça winger (34 goals and 23 assists) in 24/25, but his record was much more discreet.
The Egyptian only won the Premier League (he was the top scorer of the tournament), while Raphinha won the national treble in Spain (League, Cup and Super Cup). In addition, he was the top scorer in the Champions League with 13 goals.
Raphinha, second best classified player of Barça in the 2025 Ballon d'Or

In addition, the player from Porto Alegre was chosen as MVP of last season in LaLiga, but all this was not enough to get closer to the great candidates, Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembélé even despite having more participations in goals than both in 24/25.
The truth is that the Brazilian was the second most voted Barça player in the 2025 edition of the Ballon d'Or, surpassing his teammates Pedri González and Robert Lewandowski. The Canary Islander finished in 11th place despite being, by far, the best midfielder in the world today, while the '9' finished seventeenth.
Raphinha, in addition, surpassed Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain), Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid), Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City) and Nuno Mendes (Paris Saint-Germain) in the TOP-10 of the votes made by 'France Football'.
The presence of Ronaldinho to present the award to the best male player of the season generated illusion in Brazil with the possibility of seeing the first player in almost two decades to win the award. Since Kaká (2007 with Milan), no footballer of the 'canarinha' has managed to emulate what was done by Ronnie (2005), Rivaldo (1999) and Ronaldo Nazario (1997, 2002).
