Barça confirmed on Friday that Ferran Torres would be out for Matchday 9 of La Liga against Girona as a precaution. In total, 7 Barça players will miss the match in Montjuïc
Hansi Flick will not be able to count on Ferran Torres and six other FC Barcelona players for the match against Girona on Saturday (16:15 CEST) at Montjuïc. The 'Shark' will be out for matchday 9 of LaLiga EA Sports "as a precaution" due to a muscle overload suffered during his time with Spain in the FIFA international break.
The absence of the '7' adds to the absences of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, meaning Barça will lose 3 of their 6 forwards for the derby against Míchel's side. The Brazilian has been out for three weeks with a right femoral biceps injury suffered in Oviedo and hopes to return against Olympiacos on Tuesday or, failing that, on Sunday against Real Madrid.
Lamine Yamal and Fermín López will return against Girona

With Ferran, 'Lewy,' and Rapha injured, Flick will only have Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji fit to start. The Englishman is the team's most in-form forward, with 3 goals and 5 assists in the last 7 matches. The Swede, meanwhile, is still looking for his first official goal in the Barça jersey.
The coaching staff, however, will have Lamine Yamal and Fermín López back against Girona. The player from Huelva missed the last 4 games due to an injury to his left iliopsoas muscle, but he could play at least 45 minutes (unlikely from the start) on Saturday.
Lamine, meanwhile, relapsed from his discomfort in the pubis after the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain and is also expected to add minutes in the second half, thinking about arriving at full strength against Olympiacos and Real Madrid.
With the winger and attacking midfielder available on the bench, Flick could opt for 'Dro' Fernández (he started against Real Sociedad) and Toni Fernández in the starting XI, the latter having been called up for 10 first-team matches, but still without any minutes in 25/26.

Olmo, Lewandowski, and Joan García Aim for November
In that sense, the two confirmed absences during the break, Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski, should return in early and/or mid-November, respectively. The attacking midfielder is expected to be out for about 3 weeks due to a muscle injury in the soleus of his left leg, and his absence next Sunday against Real Madrid is almost certain.
'Lewy', meanwhile, will be out for around a month after suffering a muscle tear in the biceps femoris of his left thigh. The Pole has been the subject of much criticism for playing 'hurt' with his national team against Lithuania, a match where he scored in the second half.
For his part, Joan García is also aiming for a return in November, perhaps after the break. The goalkeeper underwent surgery for a ruptured internal meniscus in his left knee on September 28, and his recovery time was estimated at 4 to 6 weeks.
The player from Sallent is practically ruled out for the Clásico on October 26, and Wojciech Szczesny will remain the starter, with Diego Kochen and Eder Aller as alternatives on the bench.
Gavi and Ter Stegen Should Reappear in 2026 with Barça
Pablo Gavi, however, will be out until February-March 2026, as his surgery on the right meniscus required a suture that may take 4 to 5 months to heal.
Marc-André ter Stegen, in turn, could also reappear as late as January, once he completes the recovery time from his back surgery. However, the German does not rule out receiving medical discharge this year, as he has been progressing very well from the operation. When he returns, the '1' will be the third Barça goalkeeper and his future is totally uncertain.
| PLAYER | INJURY | ESTIMATED RETURN |
|---|---|---|
| Ter Stegen | Surgery for lower back problems | January 2026 |
| Gavi | Surgery for a right meniscus injury | February 2026 |
| Raphinha | Right hamstring injury | October 21-26 |
| Joan García | Surgery for a left meniscus injury | November 2025 |
| Dani Olmo | Left calf injury | November 2025 |
| Lewandowski | Muscle tear in the left hamstring | November 2025 |
| Ferran Torres | Discomfort in the left thigh | October 21 |
